This backsplash almost sucked away my will to live. Probably because after building and tiling the counters I am burned. out.
Here's one of those fun "before" shots, when the microwave took up all the counter space:

And here's the shots for today. I'm getting so close to the final reveal on this kitchen -- it's only taken me 5 months of little-by-little progress...I have to wait until everyone is asleep to do any serious work, and sometimes by the time they go to bed I'm so tired I just can't do it.

I'm debating on this rooster. I like him, don't get me wrong. It's just that I'm not trying to go country...cottage isn't the same as country, right? But this guy is kinda cute, since he's all white. ?

I still have to grout and seal all of this, so nothing is "finished". Not that anything around here is technically ever finished though...

  7. First, I'm super jealous. Second, is tiling really that easy, or are you just making it look easy?

    Beautiful though.

About Me

My photo
For many years I was a mechanical engineer by day, a house renovator by night, and a single mom. I previously built a tiny house on Tybee Island that I sold in 2015. Then I lost my day job, met Prince Charming, and now work full time demolishing (fixing) his lake house. ;) Stop by for the house stuff, stay for the never-ending disasters, pianos falling out of the sky, floods, threats of financial ruin, & panic attacks. It's like house flipping meets the zombie apocalypse! with lots of kids!
