Honestly, I was going to attempt sketching my house plans in my art journal, however I can't seem to get into the habit. I'm too accustomed to drawing everything in 3D.
I'm still trying to get the hang of google's SketchUp though. It's more fun than AutoCAD. I drew this
(That's Shorty's mailbox, the only thing left after demo. I'm gonna paint it copper I think.)

I've got some ideas rolling around in my head about speeding up this process. Unfortunately I have to keep slapping my own hands when I start envisioning illegal money-making activities. For some reason my scheming always takes a turn toward the criminal. I would have made an excellent pirate. :/

Does anyone else daydream about sordid ways to raise cash? And not follow through?

  2. I once considered taking up stripping when I was feeling super poor, but I had some provisions: not full nude, not somewhere skanky, and I would wear a mask for the mystery and privacy... but that never came into being. I know it's not illegal, and rum-running sounds like much more fun, but it was a moment of desperation. = )

  5. Katy when I read your posts - no matter what the situation is, you always turn it into a positive - I'm inspired to stay cheerful. And yes, I have considered taking on a life of crime, but I know that I would get caught the first time...I can't even lie without immediately following it with "...that was a lie"! LOL!

Welcome to my three ring circus. Cake? Tequila? Pardon me while I cut this lumber and yell at my kids for the 100th time --

About Me

My photo
For many years I was a mechanical engineer by day, a house renovator by night, and a single mom. I previously built a tiny house on Tybee Island that I sold in 2015. Then I lost my day job, met Prince Charming, and now work full time demolishing (fixing) his lake house. ;) Stop by for the house stuff, stay for the never-ending disasters, pianos falling out of the sky, floods, threats of financial ruin, & panic attacks. It's like house flipping meets the zombie apocalypse! with lots of kids!
