What? You thought I'd never finish?

Me too!
Here is where we started In Dawn's cute living room, almost a year ago. Yes, a YEAR.
And here we are now. Can you believe my neighbor gave me a key and let me go in and out of her house for almost a year? That's how awesome she is. It wasn't just that I wanted to build her something cool; I was also teaching myself how to build cabinetry. (I wasn't in her house every day or even every weekend, but still. Dawn is what an intermediate carpenter would call a Dream Client.)
Unfortunately, after years and years of blogging and building stuff, I still don't own a camera. So you've got to deal with my blurry cell phone pics :)
We still need a bit of touch-up paint and Dawn's going to fill up her new picture frames, but I think we can call this one done!

Up next: the old clawfoot tub gets a car paint job, and I have some news on the beach shack but I don't want to jinx it yet...

  1. WOW - amazing Katy!!! As always :) XOXO

  2. Beautiful!!! I just "built" some shelves but cheated with IKEA Billys, I just trimmed them out. It just about killed me. I am clearly not up for a project close to this but I appreciate all the work that went into this. How on earth did you do the doors?

  3. I totally knew you could do it Katy. Just simply stunning. Cheers.

  4. I'm simply stunned! That's absolutely gorgeous. You should be proud!

Crossing my fingers for good news on the beach shack - you guys totally deserve it.

  8. I don't live next door, but if I did I would be honored to be your neighbor! Dawn's built-ins turned out fantastic! Major pats on the back my friend! So proud of you! Do you want to commute I'd give you my key too!

Welcome to my three ring circus. Cake? Tequila? Pardon me while I cut this lumber and yell at my kids for the 100th time --

About Me

My photo
For many years I was a mechanical engineer by day, a house renovator by night, and a single mom. I previously built a tiny house on Tybee Island that I sold in 2015. Then I lost my day job, met Prince Charming, and now work full time demolishing (fixing) his lake house. ;) Stop by for the house stuff, stay for the never-ending disasters, pianos falling out of the sky, floods, threats of financial ruin, & panic attacks. It's like house flipping meets the zombie apocalypse! with lots of kids!
