More Tiny Beach House, Y'all.

I closed on this house yesterday. I know. MOMENT OF SILENCE PLEASE! This is my goodbye-post for 15 Wilson Drive, Tybee Island Georgia, the center of my existence for 3 years. :P

I never even got to finish all my custom window treatments etc etc etc. I will probably always be sad about that.

I heard the new owners are renting it out this summer, and I left all the furniture there - so. Check it out if you want to go to Tybee. I hope the new people love this house as much as I do :)
(and yes I have an extra kid in this pic)

Let's all just take a deep breath, open a box of wine, and try to get past this. To the next project.. do you think I can top this? I'm not sure. We'll see.

I'm grateful that I had the chance to chase this dream, EVEN IF IT WAS ONLY A STINKIN DREAM RIGHT.  xoxo

  1. Katy,

I have loved watching you (relentlessly) take your dream and make it a reality. And I ABSOLUTELY LOVE your eye for design and decor.

I have to admit, I was sad reading that it sold. I truly believe that this little house was a huge part of your healing :) I don't know what God has in store for you but I know that with your creative talents, it will be awesome!

Thank you for letting us, less confident and adventurous ladies, tag along on your adventure. You are a great role model for your kids, showing them life may knock you down but you have to keep getting back up as well as to dream big. You are inspiring and make me want to dare to dream. Maybe someday, I'll even get to visit your little beach house (it will always be "yours" :) )

I hope you continue to keep us updated on your next journey (and of course your step-by-step how to projects...lol).

    Have a fabulous summer!

    1. Tyana, you are so sweet, and you're right of course. This project was all about healing, but I didn't know that 3 years ago. :) You have a great summer too, I will be tackling a new project soon enough. xoxo

  5. Katy,

I too saw "your house" in a magazine and thought to myself - oh, that's Katy's house! You did a great job and we all loved watching and hearing about your challenges, as well as your success. Also, please know that there are many of us women who have fallen and then moved onto the next chapter. I hate that shit - that all our bad experiences make us stronger. to that I say.....we are already strong. I wish you well in your next chapter of life. Please do keep us posted.

  6. Katy, the house turned out so great! Every wall and space is full of fun and charm! I'm sure the new owners are proud of your work of art on Tybee. That was such an enormous project and with it being far from home that had to make it that much more daunting/crazy/stressful. Thinking of all the things you had to overcome to get to this point, even if it turned out differently than you'd hoped... it's very impressive and inspirational for us who follow you.
Can't wait to see your next project and will be looking for that issue of you in HGTV Mag. Awesome!
Do you guys watch Amer. Ninja Warrior? They have an athlete with CF that I know you'd enjoy cheering for. He was in the Pittsburgh episode if you can catch a re-air. :)
Great picture with your 3+1 one kids. You look like a Miami Valley Girl.

    1. Trent, thank you for the kind words. Lol I'm always a miami valley girl, southern women put way too much effort into their hair, so I'll never pass 😆
